Over 10 years ago, local Thunder Bay pharmacist, Mike Palko (BSc. Phm.) along with his partner Mitch Silverman (BSc. Phm.) had an idea to bring personalized care to patients suffering from opioid use disorder. In the summer of 2011, Mike and Mitch opened Syndicate Pharmacy in the South/Fort William area, a 300 square foot pharmacy inside a small 1300 square foot location on Syndicate Ave. Three years later, we welcomed another local Thunder Bay pharmacist, Sarah Haney (BSc. Phm.) into the group and in 2015 opened Court Street Pharmacy (69 Court Street North) for those suffering in the North/Port Arthur area of the Thunder Bay.

As we continued to grow, in 2016 we moved from our old Syndicate location just down the street to the corner at Donald St, with over 2 ½ times more space. Mike, Sarah, and Mitch continued to grow their practices which lead to the opening of TBAC, the Thunder Bay Addiction Centres, in 2020.

TBAC South (140 Syndicate Ave South) expanded their footprint and now boasts 6,000 square feet of medical offices and pharmacy. We now host HepCURE, a hepatitis-C diagnostic, prevention, and treatment centre, and look forward to future expansion into many other areas of care to compliment our current practices. Note: TBAC North also host’s a satellite office for HepCURE as well.

At time of opening, we proudly boast 2 of the best local physicians specializing in Addiction Medicine care, along with 2 other extremely dedicated, long-standing physicians through Virtual OTN care. All in all, our physician group has over 60 years of experience in Addiction Medicine!
